Saturday, March 18th - Meeting Notes
We previewed a new product from Discover Your Mac, the Spotlight Movie. All about
OS 10.4 Tiger's awesome searching feature. We also worked with iCal and publishing

Saturday, February, 18th - Meeting Notes
We did an Appleworks project on how to create scrapbook and photo album pages.
We did a brief walk through of Apple's new Pages program. We also reviewed
the features and benefits of Apple's .Mac online services and even set up
our own TCMUG .mac Group.
Saturday, January 21st - Meeting Notes
We conducted the Peachpit Press Photoshop World Boston 2005 trade show experience.
This consisted of over an hour of Photoshop tips, techniques, seminars and
show highlights.

Kevin helped us with a look at backing up your Mac (Get

Also presented a project using Appleworks for the holidays to make gift tags
and labels. Scott presented new software in Netscrape and

Marilyn previewed us a new software program, Comic Life, to show and then demonstrated
how to make a poster.

Scott reviewed the new OS 10.4 applications Spotlight & Dashboard, Kevin
talked about recycling old equipment as well as a review of the "phishing" scams
to be aware of.
Saturday, July 16th - Meeting Notes
We met at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, in New Philadelphia. We
were able to use the computer lab full of 12 eMacs and Marilyn gave us a
hands-on demonstration of iMovie.

We are going to be getting to know the latest Mac OS release, "Tiger",
10.4, reviewing web site building tools and resources and going over Mac support

Saturday, March 19th - Meeting Notes
We met at the Tuscarawas County
Center for the Arts, where we were able to use the computer lab full of
12 eMacs! We had an Appleworks workshop for this meeting and we covered Word
Processing, Draw, Spreadsheet and the basic set up and overview of the application.
At the meeting we also talked about the article that ran in the Times Reporter
on 3/13, "Spyware, The Menace Within". The TCMUG sent in our feedback
to the TR editor and it

Saturday, February 19th - Meeting Notes
Paul gave us a review of the new iPod Shuffle. We spent some time going over
some freeware and shareware games as well as gaming resources on the web.
We also got a chance to look at the new iWork
application with Pages and Keynote 2. Get the scoop on the new Apple

Saturday, January 15th - Meeting Notes
Kevin covered using Mac OS Keychain application as part of securing your Mac,
Scott presented a Keynote on "which new mac is right for you? How do you
choose a new computer system? What's important to have, what's not?" and
Hayley Roder demonstrated using the online tool PhotoBucket.
2004 Meetings
Saturday, November 20th - iPod Drawing
The drawing for the iPod was held at the Dover Public Library. The winner of
the 20GB iPod was Jenny Durr of Massillon. A portion of the proceeds from
the iPod raffle will be donated to TCHESC Relay for Life Team, a local effort
supporting the American Cancer Society.

Saturday, November 6th - Meeting Notes
We reviewed the 2005 membership structure, Open House recap and discussion,
TCMUG officers, board and committee's. Our topic for the meeting was presented
by Kevin on dealing with Identity Theft, fraud, online scams/phishing and
available resources and planning to help you. You can download the Identity

Saturday, October 2nd - "OPEN HOUSE". The Tuscarawas County
Mac Users Group will be having an "Open House" in New Philadelphia,
Ohio at the TCH Educational Service
Center, located at 834 East High Avenue. The open house is being
held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and is open to the public. Download

The event is being held to introduce the user's group, founded in 2002, to
the community and to raise awareness of our support and increasing exposure
of the Apple Computer platform. Instant membership packages will be available
to attendees seeking to join at a discounted rate.
The open house is designed for new, intermediate and advanced users of all
ages -- the group welcomes all those who use and enjoy Macintosh computers
and related peripherals or who have an interest in learning more about the
platform.
The day's agenda includes demonstrations of the iPod, iTunes, various Apple
computers as well as OS 9 and OS X -- Apple's own operating systems.
Several interactive workstations will be setup for participants to get hands-on
with Macintosh technology. This will include AppleWorks office suite, music
demos and Internet applications such as the Safari web browser, iChat for instant
messaging and Mail.
TCMUG Apple Ambassador Kevin Warrene hopes to see plenty of Microsoft Windows
users as well. "We especially look forward to showing how the modern Macintosh
works seamlessly with PC's both in the home and at the business level."
Supporters of the event include Apple Computer, Tidbits, Total Training, O’Reilly,
Peachpit Press, Chris Breen’s Bungalow, Your Mac Life, AppleWorks Users
Group, MacFixit, Version Tracker, Matterform, BareBones Software, Microsoft,
David Rohr, Macworld, Allume Software and Bloom's Printing. A new fourth generation
Apple iPod is being raffled off, and the event will also include door prizes
and numerous other free giveaways.

Scott reviewed using Internet tools that deal with travel, Kevin did

We were demonstrating Apple's iSight with Blane & Scott. Paul & Traci
reviewed the latest iPod Mini and related information. Blane shared with us
the new Apple xServe Server.

We will be taking a look at four different genealogy software programs available
and their related Internet resources. Also, we will take a brief look at

We were able to take a tour of the facility and see how they use their Macs in
processing our daily news. Thanks to MUG member Mark Judy, Manager of Information
Services at the T-R, for setting this up.

We met at a new location, Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus. We were
thrilled that we had an Internet connection, finally! Scott showed us the
ins and outs of using eBay and Blane talked
with us about another great online service, PayPal.

We introduced our new membership structure, showing the features and benefits
of TCMUG membership. We will also be giving away our first door prize, Matterform

2003 Meetings
Saturday, November 8th - Meeting Notes
The monthly meeting was held at the Apple store at Easton Towne Center
in Columbus. The meeting was attended by all of the officers of the
group as well as
many of the membership. The Apple store staff presented very informative
presentations on Apple's latest operating system, 10.3 "Panther",
and Music on your Mac using their iLife suite of applications. We were
able to spend several hours at the store browsing the latest software,
hardware and peripherals offered, also having a chance to work on any
troubleshooting issues and of course got an early start on some Christmas
shopping.
Saturday, October 4th - Meeting Notes
We reviewed popular magazines and books to help you with your Mac. The
books are now linked on our Resources page. Scott showed us Konfabulator,
a program for Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets and Kevin
did a brief overview of scanning using VueScan.

Kevin provided a brief overview and demonstration of the new World
