========== OS TIP OF THE MONTH ==========
We are going to look at Folder Tricks for this month. These should work in OS 8, 9 & 10.
1. Drag open folders to the bottom of the screen and they will appear as tabs and work as pop-up windows. OS 9 and earlier only.
2. In folders, type any letter to highlight the files beginning with that letter.
3. Hit Tab to move through the files in any folder one by one.
4. Hit Shift-Tab to go backward.
5. Close all of your open Finder windows by holding down the Option key while clicking the close box on any one of the windows.
6. Click the right-most box in a Finder window to collapse it. OS 9 and earlier. In OS 10 you would use the Yellow - button to collapse it. You can also hide the toolbar in OS 10 Finder windows by using the button at the top right of the window. Double clicking on the title bar also collapses the window into the Dock in OS 10.
7. Want to know what you worked on last? In any Finder window in List view, click on the button called "Date Modified". The most recent files will pop to the top.
8. Open a folder and close the one that contains it at the same time by holding down Option as you double-click the folder icon.
9. To make a file jump to the top of the list, copy a hard return and paste it in front of the file name.
10. For a permanent window showing your open applications, click and hold the Finder icon in the upper right corner of your screen and drag down onto your desktop. OS 9 and earlier.
