^^^^^^^^^^ OS X TIP OF THE MONTH ^^^^^^^^^^
When you run Software Update looking for updates for your system, the program
typically downloads the program, installs the program and optimizes the program
for and then there is usually a restart. But, if you would like to download
a back up copy of the application do the following. With the application(s)
checked in Software Update that you want to install, you would then choose
Update --> Download Checked Items To Desktop. If you ever have to reinstall
you'll at least have the updates on your local drive and just double-click
each installer to install.

^^^^^^^^^^ OS 9 TIP OF THE MONTH ^^^^^^^^^^
Pop-up windows in the Mac OS allow convenient access to frequently used information.
Desktop clutter is reduced since the tabbed pop-up windows reside at the
bottom of the screen and take up far less real estate than individual icons
of all of the content on the Desktop. To turn an open window into a pop-up
window tab you would choose View --> as Pop-Up Window or you could drag
the window by the title bar to the bottom of the screen until the tab appears
and just release. If you use the drag method you can place the window tab
anywhere along the bottom of the screen. Just click the tab to open or drag & drop
to add more files to the window.
